We are currently seeking a detail-oriented DOT Compliance Specialist to join our Team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our drivers and leadership to ensure DOT compliance.

About the position:

This is a full-time position working in our Red Bluff, California office. We are offering an attractive compensation package, including a 401k retirement program, health benefits, and paid holidays. Under general direction, the position supports our Fleet compliance operations.

Responsibilities:

• Review and monitor drivers Records and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) documentation, onboard telematics (Samsara), and onboard camera recorded incidents.
• Coordinate with field personnel to ensure proper use of ELDs and compliance with Hours-of-Service regulations. Ensure driver logs are accurate and certified daily.
• Coordinate with field personnel to ensure DVIRs are completed daily.
• Coach drivers on incidents recorded with onboard telematics and camera recording.
• Develop a driver and fleet scorecard to track overall safety and compliance performance.
• Monitor company’s FMCSA SMS scores, review violations, and generate reports for the Fleet and Safety Divisions.
• Coordinate the installation and maintenance of telematics hardware and software.
• Provide training on system utilization and updates.
• Ensure that the company is compliant with all FMCSA filings, to include:
o Processing of FMCSA MSC-150 biennial reports and CSA BASICs scores.
o Perform and track completion of DataQ reviews in the company’s FMCSA web page.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and other state regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of Electronic Logging Devices with prior experience in Samsara a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and Teams.
• Experience in auditing techniques and data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in the handling of sensitive and confidential situations and information.
• Resourceful, excellent problem-solving skills.
• Takes initiative to mitigate problems, resolve issues, and suggest improvements.
• Previously provided safety compliance to a local and non-local workforce or trucking fleet.
• Experience as a law enforcement officer with assignment at weigh stations and/or conducting roadside CMV inspections a plus.

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License or the ability to acquire one within ten (10) days of employment.
